Let's play Boom Kōnane

Eh, you play Kōnane? Now is your chance to learn how to play from anywhere in the US.

Boom Kōnane is a new way to learn and play Kōnane via video conferencing.

Our Boom Kōnane package includes our newly designed Pueo Papamū with everything you need to play. Rule card with information and email support. A set of black and white flat marbles in a burlap `ili bag to hold everything you'll need. A one-hour group session with other beginners as we teach you how to play and answer any questions you may have about Kōnane. This package also includes a thirty-minute one-on-one follow-up session to ensure you know everything you need to continue playing at the highest level.

Our one-hour group session is on the second Saturday of the month, starting at 6:00 am. Hawaii time. If you can't make the 6:00 am or live in Hawai'i, we also offer an 8:00 am Hawaii time.
You'll have to adjust your local time depending on where you live.

For your one-to-one, thirty-minute session, we will schedule a different time via email.

You must install the Zoom app on your device before the day of our session and have a good internet connection.

Do you need a different schedule? I can customize a convenient time for you at an additional cost.

It would be best if you also had a playing partner when participating in all of our sessions.

Any more questions? Visit my blog for more information.

Before purchasing our Boom Kōnane package, ensure you have a Zoom app (free) and a playing partner and can make the scheduled time on the second Saturday of the month. This package only allows you to schedule only one time. 6 am or 8 am, not both. Once you buy your package, I will communicate with you via the email you used to purchase the package. Let me know when you want to attend, and I'll email you the Zoom link a few days before the session.

The email may be diverted to your junk or SPAM folder. Please check.

I will email you again a few days after our session to schedule a thirty-minute follow-up to see how you're doing and to answer any of your questions.

Having someone else to attend with you is very important in developing your Kōnane skills. You don't have to have someone to attend with you. Be aware that I may be unable to focus on you during the group session.

Best for ages eight and up. I like to teach parents first, and then they can teach the Keiki.

You are setting up your devices for Boom Kōnane. You'll need a large table—something to hold your device (Phone, iPad) or space to hold your computer—enough room to play a board game like Monopoly.

A good internet connection in a comfortable setting.

If you are outside, you might need some weights to help hold down the Pueo Papamū if it is breezy. I like to use 3/4 inch washers you can get from any hardware store. Buy eight washers, and you'll be ready for anything. They also fit in your `ili bag.

Congratulations, you are about to reconnect to an ancient Hawaiian way of thinking. After our sessions, you should be able to teach others how to play and help me rebuild a Kōnane playing population.

Any other questions? Leave a comment, and I'll get back to you.

Aloha and Mahalo,

Uncle John Kaohelaulii.
